Role Overview

Join Affirm as the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk Strategy to help leaders make better business decisions using an enterprise-wide view of the most significant risks. The role focuses on guiding leaders through ambiguity and complex trade-offs rather than maintaining traditional risk frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leaders to navigate strategic, operational, product, and regulatory decisions and build alignment across differing perspectives.
• Evolve Enterprise Risk into a trusted business partner by creating practical, scalable approaches that improve decision-making without adding unnecessary process.
• Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to identify, assess, and respond to emerging risks tied to new products, technologies, and strategic priorities.
• Work closely cross-functionally to shape how the organization handles enterprise risk as it scales.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in a regulated or risk-intensive environment (e.g., fintech, financial services, or technology).
• Strong business judgment and the ability to simplify complex problems and influence senior leaders.
• Proven ability to build trust, challenge constructively, and drive alignment without formal authority (not operating as a control function).
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives such as enterprise risk, governance, Chief of Staff, strategy, operations, product risk, or business transformation.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, building new capabilities, and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and other business-facing teams.
