About the role

Role Overview

Senior Director of Engineering for Advanced Materials Manufacturing (North America)

You will lead the engineering execution and scale-up of next-generation industrial manufacturing facilities across North America, taking ownership of the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and permitting through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational ramp-up.

Responsibilities

  • Own engineering execution for major capital projects and advanced manufacturing facilities
  • Manage EPC/EPCM partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Oversee facility and process design, including utilities, infrastructure, and manufacturing systems
  • Support site selection, feasibility studies, permitting, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead commissioning, startup, qualification, and production ramp-up activities
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with operations, process engineering, quality, and executive leadership
  • Implement scalable engineering systems and continuous improvement practices
  • Support long-term manufacturing strategy and future expansion planning

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing or process engineering environments
  • Proven leadership of large-scale capital projects and plant commissioning activities
  • Deep understanding of process safety, hazardous chemical systems, and industrial utilities infrastructure
  • Experience managing EPC/EPCM relationships and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Background in power-intensive manufacturing or continuous process operations
  • Familiarity with North American permitting, EHS, and regulatory environments
  • Experience scaling pilot/demonstration operations into commercial manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hydrofluoric acid (HF), fluorination processes, or highly corrosive chemical systems
  • Exposure to battery materials, specialty chemicals, or advanced process manufacturing
  • International project experience and cross-cultural collaboration

Location / Travel

Remote in the United States with travel across North America for projects.
