About the role
Role Overview
Senior DevSecOps / Platform Engineer to support a large federal healthcare technology program. You will design, implement, and maintain secure platform services, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation capabilities across shared development, test, and production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and deployment workflows across environments.
- Engineer secure, scalable cloud platform capabilities using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container platforms, and automation tooling.
- Improve platform reliability and observability, including access controls, secrets management, and operational readiness.
- Partner with software engineers to enhance developer experience, deployment efficiency, and release repeatability.
- Implement and maintain DevSecOps controls across build, deploy, scanning, monitoring, and incident response workflows.
- Manage platform components such as containers, orchestration platforms, artifact repositories, and shared runtime services.
- Troubleshoot pipeline/environment/deployment issues and support root cause analysis and service restoration.
- Contribute to platform standards, runbooks, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Support change management, patching, upgrades, and operational governance for shared services.
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in DevOps, platform engineering, systems engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
- Experience with AWS, containerization, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of security controls: secrets handling, vulnerability scanning, and compliance-oriented platform engineering.
- Experience supporting shared environments and release automation for enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Linux, scripting, monitoring tools, and production troubleshooting.
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, QA, security, and program leadership.
- Ability to document technical and operational procedures clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree (CS/IT/Engineering or related) or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain a Government clearance.
Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience supporting federal contracting environments / Department of Veterans Affairs initiatives.
- Familiarity with InterSystems IRIS or healthcare integration platforms.
- Relevant certifications (AWS, Kubernetes, security, or DevOps).
- Experience in regulated environments with auditability and security requirements.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Git-based delivery ecosystems.
Location / Remote
- Remote opportunity, but must reside within the continental US.
