Senior Devops Engineer

Role Overview

Woliba is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote) to help scale its global AWS cloud infrastructure. You’ll own reliability, security, automation, and observability, acting as an AWS/DevOps subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure for security, scalability, and reliability.
• Drive automation across CI/CD, configuration management, and observability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve:
  • deployment efficiency,
  • infrastructure performance,
  • system resilience.
• Own and enforce DevOps best practices across development and production environments.
• Deliver and maintain:
  • high availability AWS architecture and performance improvements,
  • infrastructure monitoring, alerts, and auto-scaling,
  • incident response runbooks, procedures, and RCA-driven improvements.
• Build CI/CD and infrastructure workflows using standard tooling and infrastructure-as-code.
• Implement security and compliance controls (IAM, VPC/networking, secrets, encryption, patching).
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain strong operational documentation.

Key Infrastructure / Delivery Areas (6–12 months success)

• Reliability & Performance: Highly available AWS architecture using EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS (Aurora), ALB; optimize networking/storage/DNS; implement monitoring + auto-scaling.
• Automation & CI/CD: CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins; Terraform or CloudFormation; automate deployments, backups, and environment provisioning.
• Security & Compliance: AWS security best practices with IAM, VPC, network ACLs; secrets management, encryption, patching protocols; support compliance efforts.
• Observability & Incident Response: Logging/monitoring/alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus; runbooks; root cause analysis and continuous reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years hands-on experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong AWS command across: EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, VPC, Route 53, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, and DNS management.
• Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Proven CI/CD pipeline experience and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with containerized applications using Docker and orchestration.
• Strong understanding of security, load balancing, and fault tolerance.

Nice to Have

• SaaS / multi-tenant cloud experience.
• Monitoring familiarity: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, serverless architecture, or AWS cost optimization.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams in a remote setup.
