About the role
Role overview
Corva is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Go and Python development experience to join the infrastructure team. You will lead and implement DevOps practices while using your programming skills to build automation tools, improve infrastructure, and enhance system reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple environments (major clouds and self-hosted)
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using modern tooling and GitOps approaches
- Build Kubernetes operators and custom solutions using Go and Python
- Lead CI/CD implementation and ongoing improvements
- Monitor system health, performance, and security using modern stacks and OpenTelemetry (OpenTelemetry/OTel)
- Design and implement scalable, resilient architecture
- Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues
- Establish best practices for infrastructure management and security
- Mentor junior team members on DevOps practices and technologies
Requirements
- 6+ years in IT operations, systems engineering, or a similar role
- 3+ years professional software development experience in Go and/or Python
- Strong experience with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux, Terraform)
- Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Concourse)
- Proficiency with monitoring/logging/observability (e.g., Prometheus Stack, OTel)
- Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills
- Knowledge of networking and security best practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Ability to explain Kubernetes to non-technical audiences
- Database administration knowledge (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with Kafka / RabbitMQ and event streaming
- Familiarity with service mesh concepts (Envoy, Istio, Linkerd)
- Experience with GitOps workflows
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers
