Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Join Tikal as a Senior DevOps Engineer and help drive real-world, production-focused DevOps practices using a cloud-native stack. You’ll work with a community of ~50 DevOps professionals and use hands-on engineering to improve reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead microservices transformation: migrate from monoliths to microservices using Kubernetes, Istio, and Linkerd to improve reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Operate and scale container platforms: manage Kubernetes clusters at scale and automate deployments with Helm.
• Implement continuous delivery / GitOps workflows: integrate CI/CD using GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD.
• Build GitOps and automation for infrastructure: use FluxCD for GitOps and automate infrastructure management with Terraform.
• Security and configuration management: maintain security and configuration with HashiCorp Vault.
• Observability and monitoring: build and manage observability stacks with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Jaeger and enable fast incident response.
• Production readiness: define production-readiness standards and use tools like Datadog and New Relic to ensure systems are stable and performant.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps experience in complex, large-scale environments.
• Kubernetes expertise including Helm and service mesh tooling (Istio, plus related CNCF ecosystem tools).
• Infrastructure as Code proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure (AWS/GCP/Azure experience is a plus).
• GitOps and automation hands-on experience with ArgoCD and FluxCD (and mention of Jenkins).
• Proven experience building/maintaining monitoring & observability stacks with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Jaeger.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and additional automation tooling (e.g., Jenkins mentioned).
