About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at TeraWatt, you will expand and scale the company’s cloud platform in a rapidly evolving, sustainability-focused industry. You will collaborate with the Director of Software, the Product team, and other technical partners to deliver resilient, scalable infrastructure and reliable software delivery.

Key Missions

Evolve the cloud infrastructure using Terraform, supporting resilient and scalable systems.
Maintain Helm charts and deployment models to enable teams to manage service lifecycle.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support engineering deployment workflows.

Responsibilities / What You’ll Work On

Scale and operate production cloud infrastructure, including managed Kubernetes (EKS).
Work with managed databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB (or similar systems).
Deliver high availability production systems and support DevOps/SRE initiatives.
Improve observability and operational standards using frameworks/tools such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
Contribute to security and compliance improvements through automation and internal tooling.
Operate multi-region AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes at scale.

Requirements

5+ years building and operating high-availability production software systems (preferably DevOps/platform engineering).
Experience with scalable cloud infrastructure running on managed Kubernetes (EKS).
Experience with managed databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar).
Experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills (engineering, product, infrastructure).
Experience with SRE/DevOps initiatives supporting production platforms.
Observability experience with tools like OpenTelemetry and Grafana (or similar).
Proficiency in Python or Node.js.
Experience with data/streaming infrastructure such as Databricks and Kafka (MSK) (or similar).
Experience improving security/compliance through automation.

Nice to Have

Experience implementing or scaling observability standards with OpenTelemetry and Grafana Cloud.
Experience scaling/maintaining multi-region AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (EKS) at scale.
