Senior DevOps Engineer

Role overview

Join Semperis as a Senior DevOps Engineer working on deployment, orchestration, observability, and secure communication. You will design and improve CI/CD, build and manage cloud infrastructure, operate Kubernetes at scale, and implement GitOps workflows.

Key missions & responsibilities

• CI/CD & release processes: Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes across product teams.
• Infrastructure & deployments: Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, Kustomize, Bicep/ARM).
• Kubernetes operations: Operate and scale AKS clusters and supporting services (networking, storage, service mesh).
• GitOps: Implement and maintain GitOps workflows (e.g., Argo CD).
• Resource management: Manage on-prem and cloud resources.
• Reliability & incidents: Participate in incident management and an on-call rotation.
• Automation: Automate routine tasks and improve operational processes.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Cloud infrastructure experience, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions).
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g., Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, Kustomize).
• Production experience operating Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
• GitOps practices and tools (prefer Argo CD).
• Experience with incident management and on-call.
• Strong debugging and optimization skills across code, networking, storage, and systems.
• 6+ years hands-on DevOps/SRE experience in large-scale SaaS or regulated environments.
• Proficiency in one or more languages/scripting: Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, C/C++, Java, JavaScript.
• Security-first approach for cloud and container security, balancing security with developer experience and cost efficiency.
• Observability and alerting experience: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry, including SLO/SLA and audit/security logging.
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals and networking (TCP/IP, routing, topologies, SDN).
• Familiarity with Microsoft environments/windows troubleshooting and MS Build.
• Relevant certifications in Azure, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Security, or Linux.

Nice-to-haves

• AI/LLM or agent-based automation for DevOps tasks.
• Exposure to MLOps workflows and tooling.
• Event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka) and microservices patterns.
• Service mesh (e.g., Istio).
• Supply chain security/compliance exposure (e.g., SBOM, ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP/NIST).
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
