About the role

Role Overview

Senior DevOps Engineer, Security — design, secure, and scale modern cloud infrastructure while improving reliability and developer experiences in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to initiatives across infrastructure security, system reliability, release processes, observability, cost optimization, and developer productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and cross-functional teams to address security challenges across:
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • applications and endpoints
    • AI workloads and enterprise environments
  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and support compliance/security best practices.
  • Improve cloud architecture, operational processes, and automation workflows for scalability and resilience.
  • Conduct security reviews of third-party vendors, services, and technology integrations.
  • Enhance developer experience by improving tools, workflows, and automation.
  • Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) across development teams.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and metrics for operational visibility.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support production operations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve security, efficiency, and scalability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years implementing and managing AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code, with strong security best practices.
  • 3+ years managing production workloads in containerized environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Experience with NGINX (web proxy technologies).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, Ruby, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and cloud application environments.
  • Experience with SDLC practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch, or similar.
  • Ability to independently solve complex problems in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong ownership mindset and commitment to secure, reliable delivery.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GCP.
  • Familiarity with compliance processes and security frameworks.
