About the role
Role Overview
Rushdown Studios is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support an existing partner studio. You’ll work with the team to improve infrastructure reliability and automate infrastructure creation and tooling for a large-scale game development and live-service project.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure for game development and live-service games using one or more cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
- Apply cloud security best practices and meet compliance requirements for gaming infrastructure.
- Design and develop CI/CD pipelines for builds and deployments.
- Respond to live support issues related to the live-service game.
- Automate development environments to empower multiple teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Groovy.
- Containerization and orchestration experience (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of game packaging and deployment requirements across platforms.
- Experience compiling code and/or managing pipelines that compile code.
- Ability to debug unexpected issues during development.
- Strong bias toward player experience and collaborative, proactive communication.
Nice to Haves
- Build system experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, or Azure DevOps (game-development context preferred).
- Experience with additional cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of game development workflows and asset management.
- Experience with Go.
- Version control experience for game development (e.g., Perforce, Git LFS).
