About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Kasha, you will oversee engineering operations to ensure seamless integration, continuous delivery, and efficient deployment pipelines. You’ll lead CI/CD workflow design, infrastructure automation, and monitoring, partnering with development, QA, and IT teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Engineering team to release new software versions.
Manage infrastructure across AWS, Nexcess, and Google Cloud Platform, including routine monitoring of CPU, memory, and spikes and other relevant metrics.
Build and improve CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines.
Implement infrastructure automation, systems analysis, and plans to improve/expand the current technology stack.
Ensure production stability through maintenance and troubleshooting.
Backups and reliability:
- Ensure 100% of critical systems are backed up timely to limit data loss.
- Address at least one backup in every month.
- Resolve all failed backup alerts within the quarter.
Security and vulnerability management:
- Ensure applications are regularly scanned for vulnerabilities and keep system security up to date.
- Investigate and integrate code pipeline tools for security scanning of the codebase.
Org-wide systems administration and IT operations:
- Manage licensing, user access, firmware updates, and support requests for tools such as Google Workspace, Dynamics, Freshworks/Freshsales, Airslate, Meta, Slack, Sweetprocess, and Microsoft Office.
- Track org-wide IT subscription spending and coordinate with finance teams for timely payment.
- Monitor service uptime/downtimes, escalate issues, and ensure long-term mitigation.
Plan and execute weekly cloud infrastructure tasks aligned to sprint planning.
Enforce Kasha’s IT security policies (access/compliance) and support data/security compliance efforts in Rwanda and Kenya.
Mentor the team and help establish best practices in cloud infrastructure, security, and configuration management.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software role (posting cuts off after this line).

Nice to Have / Implied

Experience working closely with engineering, QA, and IT to drive reliability, performance, and scalable delivery.
Strong grounding in CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and security compliance.
