About the role
Role Overview
Senior DevOps Engineer (Applications) at WME. You’ll design and operate cloud infrastructure and take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure and reliability, including provisioning, Kubernetes operations, CI/CD improvements, and observability. The team is migrating from a legacy system, so you’ll support both the new platform and the transition.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Azure infrastructure using Terraform (networking, compute, managed services, secrets)
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and Helm-based deployments for distributed microservices
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps) for fast, safe, automated deployments
- Define and improve observability across services: metrics, logging, alerting, and tracing
- Lead incident response: drive resolution, write postmortems, and ensure reliability improvements
- Manage PostgreSQL at scale: backups, replication, failover, migrations, and query performance
- Collaborate with engineers on local development and deployment workflows
- Enforce security best practices: secrets management, network policies, access controls, vulnerability scanning

- Designing Azure infrastructure for gRPC microservices and a Next.js web app
- Adding observability for service health, latency, and failure modes in a distributed system
- Improving CI/CD and deployment automation
- Supporting migration from legacy .NET/MSSQL to a modern cloud-native stack
- Building developer tooling to reduce friction
Requirements
- DevOps / platform engineering experience, typically 5+ years
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure (AKS, Azure AD, managed databases, blob storage, networking)
- Terraform experience managing infrastructure as code at scale
- Kubernetes and Helm managing production workloads
- CI/CD pipeline experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps
- PostgreSQL operational management, migrations, and performance tuning
- Observability experience (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Incident response experience and driving reliability improvements
- Docker/container image management
- Secrets management familiarity (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Vault)
- Comfortable working while systems and processes are still evolving
