About the role

Role Overview

Senior Developer Success Engineer (West) will act as the frontline technical expert for Temporal’s developer community. You’ll help users deploy and scale Temporal in cloud-native environments, troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems, optimize performance, and build automation solutions that improve the developer experience.

Responsibilities

Work as a technical frontline expert for developers and engineering teams
Help customers deploy and scale Temporal in cloud-native environments
Debug complex distributed systems and infrastructure issues
Improve observability (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
Optimize cloud performance and reliability
Enhance networking components (e.g., load balancing, DNS, ingress/egress)
Automate infrastructure operations using Terraform and other IaC practices
Produce self-service diagnostics and tooling to simplify troubleshooting (inspired by network diagnostic tools)
Communicate clearly and use data/facts to guide decisions; influence platform improvements

What You’ll Bring

6+ years of developer experience
Proficiency in one or more: Python, Java, Golang, TypeScript
Experience deploying/managing medium to large-scale architectures (e.g., Kubernetes or Docker)
Monitoring and troubleshooting experience with Prometheus and Grafana
1+ year in an internal or external customer-facing role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with remote teams

Nice to Have
