Senior Developer, Product Security

Role Overview

Join 1Password’s Product Security team as a Senior Developer (Product Security) on the Device Security squad. You’ll help implement the next generation of device security features across 1Password’s applications and lead secure development practices across the codebase.

Responsibilities

• Implement new security features across 1Password applications and device security initiatives.
• Promote and enforce secure coding practices across the organization.
• Guide product teams on security best practices.
• Resolve and remediate security vulnerabilities as they arise.
• Build and share security-critical libraries/code used across applications.
• Demonstrate leadership in secure coding and development.
• (Within the team’s AI approach) participate in secure, rigorous evaluation of changes before shipping.

Requirements

• 5+ years software development with a security angle.
• Development experience with modern encryption techniques, security libraries, and/or authentication protocols.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with iOS and Apple security development.
• Knowledge of Apple security architecture and platform-specific optimization techniques, plus security standards/compliance.
• 3+ years hands-on Rust experience and creating FFI (foreign function interface) interfaces.
• Technical expertise in or willingness to learn Go and/or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Secure Enclave and HSM concepts, including experience with:
  • biometric security (Face ID, Touch ID)
  • secure boot chain
  • code signing
  • memory protection
• Strong understanding and passion for security (e.g., cryptography, network/app security, threat vectors, access control).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Deep familiarity with multiple sub-domains of security (cryptography, network security, application security, threat modeling).
• Demonstrated experience implementing security-critical platform features.
