Senior Developer Platform Engineer

Role Overview

Join Alteryx as a Senior Developer Platform Engineer (full remote) to improve developer productivity through AI-powered tooling and a better end-to-end developer inner loop.

Key Missions

• Contribute to the building and continuous improvement of the "Developer Inner Loop", maintaining platform capabilities and implementing AI-powered tools.
• Improve the software delivery lifecycle to reduce friction for product engineering teams.
• Integrate AI-based tools and workflows into the developer experience by identifying and delivering practical AI use cases.
• Partner with architects and teammates to implement the platform architecture vision and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the software delivery lifecycle and operational excellence.
• Implement automated testing frameworks.
• Integrate AI tooling into core developer platform components.
• Improve platform performance and developer experience (DevEx/Developer Experience).

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with progressively complex roles.
• Experience delivering internal engineering systems end-to-end (discovery/tech approach through rollout and iteration).
• Strong ability to scope and delegate work to teammates.
• Hands-on with microservices deployments on Kubernetes, including strategies such as canary and blue-green.
• Proven experience implementing platform/infrastructure/developer tooling solutions.
• Experience building and maintaining efficient CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated testing and deployment.
• Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD.
• Experience with local dev/build tooling such as Gradle/Bazel.
• Scripting/automation for release and build management.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting developer experience (DevEx) tooling.
• Familiarity with AI tooling integration and practical AI use cases for developer workflows.
