Senior Data Scientist

Role Overview

Join SmarterDx as a Senior Data Scientist to train, integrate, and deploy machine learning models into the Smarter Revenue Platform. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to improve clinical intelligence and ensure models deliver measurable business impact.

Key Missions

• Maximize business impact of deployed models by optimizing business logic and refining decision frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance models’ clinical intelligence and drive measurable business KPIs.
• Run rapid experimentation cycles, document learnings, and identify promising next steps.

Responsibilities

• Translate business objectives into data science problems and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Perform feature engineering and data preprocessing on structured and text data.
• Deploy ML models to production and optimize performance based on real-world feedback.
• Apply strong statistical modeling, optimization techniques, and data analysis to improve outcomes.
• Support experimentation and deployment by building or improving internal tools/infrastructure.
• Apply explainable AI and model interpretability best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related roles.
• Strong ability to solve problems while balancing technical rigor with practical business impact.
• Experience with structured and text data (feature engineering, preprocessing).
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling, optimization, and data analysis.
• Experience deploying ML models in production and improving based on feedback.
• Python proficiency.
• ML frameworks: PyTorch or scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps best practices.
• Collaboration across teams (Engineering, Product, Analytics).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in healthcare or revenue cycle management.
• Experience with large-scale data warehouses such as Snowflake.
• Background in startups/high-growth environments.
• Experience leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to build products.
• Knowledge of explainable AI and model interpretability techniques.
