Senior Data Scientist (Risk)

Role Overview

Senior Data Scientist (Risk) responsible for building risk models and insights to identify, assess, and mitigate credit and fraud risk. You will lead underwriting/portfolio capabilities, drive experimentation and product innovation, and mentor data science talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of underwriting capabilities and predictive modeling to reduce fraud losses.
• Uncover opportunities to improve portfolio performance and drive business outcomes.
• Translate complex data into scalable risk solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts; provide technical leadership, code reviews, and strategic guidance.
• Establish best practices and scalable data science methodologies and standards.
• Drive experimentation strategy and maintain strong statistical rigor (e.g., experiments, causal approaches).

Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
• Strong statistical knowledge and experience designing experiments (e.g., A/B testing, cohort analysis, causal inference).
• Experience building production-ready models and pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.

• Experience in one or more domains such as risk, growth/marketing, or product analytics.
