Senior Data Scientist

Role Overview

Join Relay as a Senior Data Scientist (full remote). You’ll elevate Relay’s data capabilities by building predictive models, supporting experimentation, and translating business questions into measurable insights. You’ll collaborate with GTM, Sales, Finance, and Product, and mentor junior data scientists.

Key Missions

• Elevate data capabilities by building predictive models and supporting experimentation across the organization.
• Own predictive modeling in key domains such as customer lifetime value (LTV), churn, retention, and early-signal customer quality assessment.
• Partner with stakeholders to convert ambiguous business questions into well-framed analytical problems with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy predictive models and explain methodology and business impact.
• Design and run experiments/A-B tests from first principles and communicate results to non-technical audiences.
• Use SQL and Python to run statistical analyses and solve complex problems.
• Work comfortably within a modern analytics stack; strong bonus for familiarity with Snowflake and dbt.
• Communicate clearly and bridge technical work with business decision-making.
• Mentor and support junior data scientists.

Requirements

• Strong communicator who can translate technical work into business decisions (written, verbal, and visual).
• Hands-on experience building and deploying predictive models (e.g., LTV, churn, lead scoring).
• Experience with experimentation / A-B testing, including experiment design and clear result communication.
• Deep comfort with SQL and Python.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with Snowflake and dbt.
• Ability to ramp quickly into new domains and deliver value within weeks.
