Senior Data Scientist

Role overview

Join Grindr as a Senior Data Scientist (Full Remote). You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define key metrics, design and analyze experiments, and uncover insights that guide product development.

Key missions / Responsibilities

• Define and track core product metrics in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Design, run, and analyze A/B tests to measure the impact of new features.
• Perform deep data analysis to explain trends and deliver actionable insights.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry data science experience.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis (e.g., pandas, Jupyter).
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Strong foundations in statistics and experimental design.
• Clear communication and comfort working with cross-functional partners.
• Interest in mentoring peers and sharing best practices.
• Exposure to machine learning, particularly practical tradeoffs in product contexts.
• Experience with experimentation platforms, specifically Statsig.
• BS or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics) or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Exposure to big data tools such as Spark.
