Senior Data Scientist (CX Analytics)

Role Overview

Join Coinbase as a Senior Data Scientist on the CX Consumer Analytics team. You’ll connect customer experience (CX) operations to top-line financial impact by building revenue calibration and causal inference models, and by turning complex data into clear, executive-ready insights.

Responsibilities

• Partner cross-functionally with CX Analytics Engineers, Program Managers, and Product teams to translate operational and behavioral data into actionable insights.
• Own and evolve CX revenue calibration models for Downstream Impact of Support (DSI), converting support interaction data into quantified revenue signals.
• Design and execute causal inference frameworks and experiments to measure the incremental impact of CX programs on:
  • customer retention
  • product engagement
• Maintain high statistical rigor across CX analytics and communicate model outputs into clear narratives.
• Use generative AI tools responsibly (with human oversight) to improve efficiency, cost, and quality in daily workflows.

Requirements

• Education & experience:
  • BA/BS in a quantitative field with 5+ years relevant experience, or
  • PhD in a quantitative field with 3+ years relevant experience.
• Experience with LLM-based classification / NLP pipelines with production-grade accuracy and strong evaluation.
• Practical expertise in statistical concepts including A/B testing and causal inference applied to ambiguous business problems.
• Demonstrated experience building revenue attribution or causal impact models in consumer-facing or operational analytics contexts.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated ability to drive impactful data science projects in ambiguous spaces with limited prior art.
• Experience applying human-in-the-loop practices when using generative AI/coplots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean).
