Senior Data Scientist (Crypto)

Role Overview

Join Wealthsimple as a Senior Data Scientist on the Crypto team. You’ll use product thinking and analytical rigor to support high-quality business decisions and improve customer experience, growth, retention, and operational efficiency through data. This role is not a data/ML engineering position.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Design, Operations) to shape product strategy, prioritization, and decision-making.
• Build metrics, data models, and analytical frameworks to better understand customer behavior and business performance.
• Proactively identify and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to focus the team on highest-impact work.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with experimentation and causal inference methods.
• 5+ years experience in data science, product analytics, experimentation, or a related field.
• Knowledge of fintech, investing, or crypto products.
• Ability to influence product/business decisions through data and clear communication.
• Strong product thinking and ability to connect customer behavior to business outcomes.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and building strong relationships.
• Thoughtful communication across different audiences; ability to work through ambiguity and create clarity.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience using AI tools to improve analysis and decision-making workflows.
• Exposure to dbt or modern data modeling tooling.
