About the role
Role overview
Senior Data Intelligence Engineer for an AI-native organization building the next generation of voice and data intelligence systems. You’ll be the founding engineer of a new Data Intelligence function, designing semantic and analytical foundations so AI agents can query, reason, and act on business-critical data.
Responsibilities
- Design and build semantic data models and dbt/SQL transformations for trusted, usage-based and revenue-driven metrics.
- Develop agent-facing tools/frameworks enabling autonomous querying, reasoning, and insight generation.
- Build and maintain data infrastructure unifying product, billing, CRM, and operational systems into an AI-ready intelligence layer.
- Ensure data contracts are reliable, scalable, and optimized for AI agent consumption (with engineering and infrastructure teams).
- Transform unstructured data (including internal voice/audio data) into structured, queryable insights.
- Automate repetitive analytics by replacing manual SQL with scalable code and agent-based solutions.
- Help evolve an AI-first data ecosystem where systems continuously learn and self-optimize.
Requirements
- 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI/data platform roles in high-growth environments.
- Strong SQL and Python; experience building production-grade data pipelines and transformations.
- Experience with RAG systems, agent-based architectures, or AI-native data workflows.
- Deep understanding of usage-based SaaS metrics, including revenue attribution, NRR, consumption models, and product analytics.
- Systems-thinking mindset for scalable, modular, reliable data architectures.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with a bias toward iteration.
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, and data leadership.
Nice to have
- Experience in software engineering or real-time data / usage billing systems.
Benefits (highlights)
- Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, mental health).
- Unlimited PTO and flexible scheduling.
- Competitive 401(k) with match.
- Wellness/productivity stipends, learning & development budget.
- Home office setup stipend and remote-work support.
- Generous parental leave and family support.
- Equity participation and compensation aligned with experience.
