Senior Data Engineer

Role overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Wagmo (full remote), you will build and scale the data infrastructure that powers the company’s growth. You’ll design robust ETL/ELT pipelines, architect the data warehouse, and partner with multiple teams to ensure clean, reliable data flows.

Key missions

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse architecture (notably BigQuery)
• Define and implement data models and dbt transformations that are clean, well-tested, and maintainable
• Collaborate with Data Analytics, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver accessible, high-quality data for decision-making

Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering (preferably high-growth SaaS or consumer tech)
• Proven ownership of production-grade pipelines and data warehouse solutions
• Strong data warehousing fundamentals:
  • dimensional modeling
  • ETL/ELT design
  • query optimization
  • data quality frameworks
• Hands-on expertise in Python and SQL
• Focus on data quality and governance
• Strong Git and CI/CD practices
• Autonomous, high-ownership, able to make progress under ambiguity
• Strong understanding of building data models for AI (they use Claude)
• Deep dbt experience on BigQuery (or similar)

Nice-to-haves / expected familiarity

• GCP experience
• Orchestration/ELT tooling familiarity such as Airflow or Fivetran
• Ability to lead projects, mentor teammates, and work cross-functionally
