Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Join Wagmo, a fast-growing pet wellness company, as a Senior Data Engineer. In this role, you will build and scale the data infrastructure that powers Wagmo's growth. You will design and maintain robust pipelines, architect our data warehouse, and partner closely with various teams to ensure clean, reliable data flows across the business. You should have hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and modern data stack tooling, and a strong focus on data quality and governance. Key missions: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse architecture (BigQuery).. Define and implement data models and dbt transformations that are clean, well-tested, and built to last.. Partner with Data Analytics, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver the clean, accessible data they need to make decisions. Profile: - Solid grasp of data warehousing fundamentals: dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT design, query optimization, and data quality frameworks - Srong Git/CI/CD practices - Strong understanding of building data models for AI (we use Claude) - Autonomous and high-ownership; comfortable making calls under ambiguity in a fast-moving environment - Expertise in Python and SQL - Strong communicator who can lead projects, mentor teammates, and work cross-functionally without hand-holding - Deep dbt experience on BigQuery (or similar) - Familiarity with GCP and orchestration tools like Airflow or Fivetran - 5+ years in data engineering, ideally at a high-growth SaaS or consumer tech company, with a track record of owning production-grade pipelines and data warehouse solutions
