About the role

Role Overview

Join Wagmo as a Senior Data Engineer (full remote) to build and scale the data infrastructure powering business growth. You will design and maintain robust data pipelines, architect the data warehouse, and partner with teams to ensure clean and reliable data flows.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse architecture using BigQuery
Define and implement data models and dbt transformations with strong testing and maintainability
Ensure data quality and governance via appropriate data quality frameworks
Collaborate with Data Analytics, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver clean, accessible data for decision-making

Requirements

Strong fundamentals in data warehousing (dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT design, query optimization, data quality)
Hands-on Python and SQL expertise
Deep dbt experience on BigQuery (or similar)
Solid Git/CI/CD practices
Ability to operate autonomously with high ownership in a fast-moving environment
Strong communication skills; can lead projects and mentor teammates

Nice-to-haves

Experience building data models for AI (mentions Claude)
Familiarity with GCP and orchestration/EL tools such as Airflow or Fivetran
