About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Unite Us, you will collect, process, and deliver data to internal and external stakeholders. You’ll design data architecture and infrastructure aligned with business objectives, build reliable data pipelines/ETL, and ensure strong data integrity.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data architecture/infrastructure aligned with business goals, partnering with Application Engineers and Product Managers.
Build ETL and data pipeline solutions to load data efficiently into the warehouse with reliability and optimal performance.
Champion data democratization by enabling relevant stakeholders to access data and guiding the team on technical best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally to address and support data-related technical issues and requirements.

Requirements

6–8+ years experience working with data warehouses/lakes and ETL pipelines.
Advanced SQL, including complex query authoring and strong familiarity with Snowflake or relational databases such as Redshift/PostgreSQL.
Proven ability to build optimized data pipelines using Snowflake.
Experience with ETL/ELT using dbt.
Python proficiency for building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines/services.
Expert orchestration with Apache Airflow (authoring, scheduling, monitoring workflows).
CI/CD for data/analytics workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
Experience supporting reporting/data user tools such as Tableau and/or ThoughtSpot.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving for data engineering issues and system failures.
Healthcare and/or social determinants of health data experience.

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Signals

Data quality framework experience and ensuring quality, scalability, and compliance for healthcare claims/clinical data.
Exposure to AWS services (e.g., ECS, S3, RDS) and cloud-based delivery.
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Kafka and building high-performance systems.
Experience developing applications for large enterprise clients.
