About the role
Role overview
Senior Data Engineer (US-based, remote) for a fast-paced SaaS/data-driven product environment. This 6-month contract supports data platform engineering, infrastructure, and ML enablement, with a focus on scalable pipelines, reliable platform operations, and data access for analytics and machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
- Develop data infrastructure to support analytics and ML workflows
- Build secure, scalable APIs for data and model access
- Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka and orchestration using Airflow
- Partner with Data Science and ML teams to deliver platform capabilities
- Ensure data observability, governance, and system reliability
Required skills
- Recent hands-on experience with Kafka and Airflow
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong AWS or other cloud experience
- API development experience
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD experience and observability tools
Nice to have
- Experience supporting ML pipelines
- Exposure to Amazon SageMaker, OpenAI, or similar tooling
- Background in SaaS, data platforms, or ML infrastructure
Additional requirements
- Must be based in the US
- Must be able to work full-time during U.S. business hours
