Senior Data Engineer

Role overview

Lodgify is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize a modern data platform. You will own scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that enable data-driven decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure (core data stack)
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and contribute to data governance practices
• Develop and optimize analytics and operational data models using dbt
• Troubleshoot data issues and support root-cause analysis (including potential tracking/implementation problems)
• Ensure data infrastructure supports downstream consumers such as analytics and future AI/ML initiatives
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to ensure data accessibility for visualization and operational syncing (e.g., Hightouch)
• Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of the data platform
• Mentor team members and promote data engineering best practices

Requirements

• 7+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong SQL and hands-on Python for data engineering tasks
• Solid data modeling and data warehousing fundamentals
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Mage.ai or Airflow
• Experience with dbt and ELT solutions such as Fivetran or Airbyte
• Experience with a cloud platform: GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Proven track record delivering reliable end-to-end production data pipelines
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Nice to have / bonus points

• Knowledge of JavaScript/Frontend for tracking and troubleshooting
• Experience with BI/visualization tools
• Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and data needs for training/deployment
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and/or GDPR
• SaaS or Travel/Hospitality industry experience
