Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview

Headway is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to shape the company’s data architecture and help ensure the data platform is scalable, reliable, and secure. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to design and implement robust data pipelines and establish data governance standards.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for internal stakeholders and core business functions.
• Define and refine data governance, monitoring, and data quality standards across the company.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to advocate data engineering best practices and ensure data needs are addressed early in the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a track record of building scalable systems and solving complex data problems.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with a modern data platform stack including: Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, and Terraform.
• Pragmatic approach to delivering for both current needs and future scale.
• Strong ownership and ability to act in ambiguity.
• Collaborative mindset and empathy for teammates and stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Metabase or Jupyter Notebooks.
