About the role

Role overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at EvenUp, you will build and scale the company’s data platform, translating business needs into scalable data solutions. You’ll own data quality and governance standards, help shape a strong data engineering culture, and mentor engineers and analysts.

Key missions / Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and supporting data infrastructure using tools such as dbt and Airflow/Dagster, alongside warehouses like BigQuery/Snowflake
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, ML Engineering, Software Engineering, and Operations to understand data requirements and deliver reliable solutions
  • Establish and promote best practices for data modeling, data quality, and governance
  • Mentor engineers and analysts on data modeling standards, tools, and engineering best practices
  • Support enabling reporting and visualization through common BI/dashboarding tools

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience designing dimensional models and defining trusted business metrics
  • Familiarity with data warehouse technologies (e.g., BigQuery or Snowflake) and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or Dagster)
  • 4+ years as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer, ideally in product-focused, fast-growing environments
  • Experience building scalable, reliable data pipelines in modern cloud environments
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with dbt to build reusable data models
  • High attention to detail and structured thinking; strong bias toward action
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data wrangling and orchestration logic

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience enabling reporting/visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase)
  • Experience as a product software engineer
  • Legal domain experience
  • Experience processing unstructured data / document-processing systems
  • Experience supporting experimentation frameworks or product analytics initiatives
