About the role

Role Overview

Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure for the firm’s enterprise analytics and reporting platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple SQL Server environments and cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security using validation, monitoring, and governance practices
  • Maintain and evolve data models, schemas, and metadata for analytics and reporting
  • Automate ingestion, transformation, and deployment using CI/CD and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues; ensure high availability and performance
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and performance tuning
  • ETL tools/frameworks experience (e.g., SSIS, dbt, Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory)
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Data modeling and governance knowledge (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, data lakes)
  • Proficiency in Python or Scala (or similar) for data processing
  • Version control and CI/CD experience (e.g., Git)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-Haves

  • College degree strongly preferred (Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related)
  • Technical certifications preferred
  • Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric)
