About the role
Role Overview
Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure for the firm’s enterprise analytics and reporting platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple SQL Server environments and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions
- Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security using validation, monitoring, and governance practices
- Maintain and evolve data models, schemas, and metadata for analytics and reporting
- Automate ingestion, transformation, and deployment using CI/CD and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues; ensure high availability and performance
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices and standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and performance tuning
- ETL tools/frameworks experience (e.g., SSIS, dbt, Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory)
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Data modeling and governance knowledge (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, data lakes)
- Proficiency in Python or Scala (or similar) for data processing
- Version control and CI/CD experience (e.g., Git)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice-to-Haves
- College degree strongly preferred (Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related)
- Technical certifications preferred
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric)
