Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview

Join Correlation One as a Senior Data Engineer (fully remote). You will build and operate reliable, analytics-ready data systems, define the team’s long-term technical vision, and mentor engineers.

Key Missions

• Contribute significantly to key data pipelines and collaborate closely with analytics stakeholders.
• Develop a long-term technical vision and design technical strategy for reusable components, frameworks, and libraries.
• Mentor engineers (including seniors and juniors) and raise engineering standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production data pipelines and ensure their reliability.
• Own production systems including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
• Design and evolve pipeline architectures, including patterns such as incremental loading.
• Integrate data from external APIs.
• Use orchestration, transformation, and infrastructure tools to deliver end-to-end data workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years in data engineering or closely related roles.
• Advanced SQL, including data modeling for analytics/reporting.
• Strong cloud experience (e.g., GCP or equivalent).
• Strong Python experience for production data pipelines.
• Experience with Airflow (or similar orchestration).
• Experience operating batch ELT pipelines and working with data warehouses.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and source control (e.g., GitHub).
• Demonstrated ownership of production systems (monitoring, debugging, incident response).
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and making pragmatic technical decisions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with dbt (or similar transformation tools) and close collaboration with analytics teams.
• Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Data quality tooling, testing, or observability.
• Exposure to BI tools and support for analytics workflows.
• Experience improving pipelines toward incremental loading patterns.
• Experience learning and adopting new tools quickly.
