Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Aroundhome, you will shape the company’s data foundation by architecting and building a modern data platform. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to deliver data solutions that are reliable, scalable, and accessible.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data models and transformations to curate raw data.
• Architect and implement a scalable modern data platform, including a Data Lakehouse or Warehouse.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet business requirements.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations across modern data technologies.

Requirements

• Strong data CI/CD experience using tools such as Git, Airflow, and/or dbt Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Collibra) for lineage, data quality, catalogs, and SSOT.
• Proven expertise designing, developing, and maintaining data lakehouses/DWH such as Databricks Delta Lake and Snowflake.
• Strong transformation skills using dbt, SQL, Python, and/or Spark.
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and MLOps (e.g., MLflow, feature stores) and complex system integration.
• Experience with large-scale data modeling approaches such as Data Vault, dimensional modeling, and schema-on-read; optimization for self-service analytics.
• 10+ years of data engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior roles focused on modern architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to drive change and mentor others.
• Strong cloud and streaming experience: AWS (e.g., S3, Athena, MSK/Kafka, Terraform) and real-time streaming (Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, Flink).
• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Data Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Deep experience integrating AI/ML workflows into enterprise data platforms and enabling production MLOps patterns.
