About the role
Role Overview
The Senior Data Engineer will support the creation of a Book of Record by building AWS-based data pipelines that enable a single source of truth. The role emphasizes strong AWS expertise, Snowflake/Power BI integration, data quality, and collaboration in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analytics teams, and business product owners in an agile environment.
- Design robust, reusable, scalable data solutions and data pipeline frameworks.
- Automate ingestion, processing, and delivery for structured/unstructured and batch/real-time data.
- Apply enterprise data management best practices including:
- Master data, reference data, metadata, data quality, and data lineage.
- Partner with stakeholders including ALM and Hedging / Risk teams.
- Navigate competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, math, engineering, or related field.
- 4 years experience across data engineering, analytics, warehousing, BI, DB admin, or integration.
- 2 years DevOps / CI-CD experience.
- Practical experience with data warehousing and ETL development.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and a results-oriented, customer-focused mindset.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; learn new technologies quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (technical field).
- Big data and streaming analytics architectures.
- Experience with analytics and ML technologies.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS).
- Programming experience with dbt, Python, Scala, or Node.js.
- Snowflake experience.
Work Model
- Hybrid: in-office Tuesdays–Thursdays (3 days/week).
- Occasional travel.
- Hub locations: Cedar Rapids, IA; Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO.
- No visa sponsorship; authorization to work in the U.S. required.
Compensation
- $95,000–$115,000 annually (plus a possible annual bonus based on plan/performance).
