You will serve as a bridge between engineering and business strategy, taking end-to-end ownership of the data ecosystem—from pipelines and modeling to data quality, governance, and support for AI/ML and analytics use cases.
Responsibilities
- Own the data ecosystem: build and maintain data pipelines and ETL, ensuring health, cost, and observability to prevent stakeholder-impacting downtime.
- Business-first data modeling: design and manage data warehouses with “gold standard” models that enable easy self-service analytics.
- Documentation & governance: maintain documentation for data engineering processes following best practices.
- Build analytics infrastructure: design and manage data lakes, warehouses, and databases for analytics and AI/ML workflows.
- Performance tuning: act as an expert in SQL and Python to optimize pipelines and proactively troubleshoot issues.
- Data quality management: implement frameworks to ensure reliability and smooth integrations across systems.
- Analytics + AI/ML support: create data models and workflows that enhance Analytics and AI/ML projects.
- Cross-functional collaboration: translate ambiguous business goals into precise technical requirements with product, engineering, and customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience with pipeline ownership and infrastructure optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (including CTE optimization) and Python (complex scripting and ML/AI-related work).
- Strong pipeline and ETL architecture experience.
- Experience with tools such as Fivetran, Snowflake, and dbt.
- Ability to apply business intuition to deliver actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Visualization experience with PowerBI, Sigma, or similar tools.
- Master’s degree in engineering or analytics.
Nice to haves
- Cloud and big data experience, especially AWS and Snowflake-related ecosystems.
- Leadership experience leading data engineering projects and integrating multiple data sources.
- Experience working in small teams and comfortable in agile environments.
