Senior Data Analytics Engineer

Role overview

Treatwell is hiring a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join the Data Team. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of data products for analysts, product managers, and business stakeholders, translating business needs into reliable, well-structured data assets as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data peers and business teams to understand needs and build data products with actionable performance insights
• Model core data assets using SQL, dbt, Python, and LookML
• Support Machine Learning model development with Python and AWS SageMaker
• Contribute to the strategy and design of data models and the data warehouse
• Discover and integrate new data sources (e.g., OLTP, APIs, S3)
• Enable self-serve analytics and conversational analytics through tooling, education, and documentation
• Define and manage data quality, documentation, observability, and governance
• Manage data exposures in Looker to ensure reliable delivery to the business
• Automate repetitive analyses and tasks
• Investigate and propose solutions for data warehouse issues affecting daily query processing and end-user needs
• Help foster a data-driven culture across the organization

Requirements

• Strong experience in data modelling and design, including dimensional models (Kimball/Inmon) and data marts
• Excellent SQL skills with a focus on performant queries
• Solid Python experience for data transformation and data science tooling (pandas, numpy)
• Collaborative, communicative, and comfortable explaining technical topics to engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working with business functions (e.g., product, marketing, commercial, finance)
• Creative problem-solving, with practical judgment on delivering “good enough” quickly
• Proficiency with Git and the command line
• Familiarity with ELT tools such as dbt (preferred) and Airflow (or similar)
• Analytical mindset with exposure to data warehouses
• Fluency in English (any other European language is a plus)
