Senior Data Analytics Engineer

Role overview

Join Dotmatics as a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to solve complex data problems across business functions. You’ll build reporting and analytics, partner with stakeholders on KPIs, and improve data quality and analytics engineering best practices.

Key missions

• Develop high-impact reporting and analytics to increase visibility into business operations, including scaling reporting via automation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve understanding and adoption of business metrics, and enable self-service analytics.
• Improve data quality, performance, and observability, and help define standards for analytics engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data models and support ad hoc data exploration.
• Translate raw data into insights usable by non-technical stakeholders.
• Design and deliver explainable, sustainable BI assets (e.g., dashboards or other reporting outputs).
• Maintain documentation such as data dictionaries and analytics documentation (e.g., dbt Docs / internal wikis).
• Contribute to analytics pipeline quality via testing, documentation, and best practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years in analytics engineering or data engineering / analytics-heavy roles.
• Advanced SQL, including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
• Experience with modern analytics tooling and building analytics workflows.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling and working across the analytics pipeline (lead generation through revenue is a plus).
• Experience defining requirements with business teams and aligning on KPIs.
• Familiarity with analytics engineering fundamentals for data quality, testing, and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt/dbt Core.
• Experience with Looker, Snowflake, or similar tooling.
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Looker, Mode, or Tableau.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows for data engineering.
• Python and shell scripting.
• Experience with self-service analytics enablement.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
