Senior Data Analyst

Role Overview

Senior Data Analyst (Money team) at U.S. News & World Report. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional product teams and partner/editorial teams to support product development from conception to launch and to maximize success for both products and editorial initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide tactical support to product managers across the development lifecycle, including assisting with technical specifications and QA.
• Analyze product performance using key metrics, including:
  • A/B testing
  • Predictive modeling
  • Dashboard development
• Perform revenue yield analysis and generate recommendations for partner campaigns/budgets, covering both paid media and on-page placements across the U.S. News experience.
• Access and manipulate large external datasets to support editorial teams in creating unique, data-driven content.
• Communicate insights effectively across stakeholders, from engineers to executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, economics, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience coding with statistical software packages, preferably STATA.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and R, SAS, Python, or other data science languages.
• Ability to work with large datasets and distill key insights.
• Data mining, analysis, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for concise reporting.
• Strong research skills and ability to answer questions using internal and external data sources.
• Experience presenting analyses to non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

Nice to Have

• Experience with reporting/tracking tools such as Google Analytics.
• Knowledge of internet publishing/metrics with an understanding of SEO.
