Senior Data Analyst

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Analyst at Turtle Rock Studios, you will drive data-informed decision-making across the studio. You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, analytics, and strategy, turning player data into insights that shape both game direction and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end data pipeline, from instrumentation to presentation
• Partner with departments and senior leadership to define what data to collect and how to analyze it
• Define and measure KPIs for engagement, retention, and churn; design pipelines to collect them
• Own key database systems, including schema design, performance, and health
• Be hands-on with ETL pipelines and the supporting infrastructure
• Automate reporting and build dashboards for multiple audiences (technical and non-technical)

Requirements

• 5+ years in a data analyst or analytics engineering role
• Strong SQL skills (querying, schema design, performance tuning)
• Proficiency in one or more backend/analysis languages such as Python, R, or Java
• Deep knowledge of statistical modeling (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing, predictive models, confidence/error)
• Ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong self-starter skills: prioritize, collaborate across teams, and solve problems independently

Preferences

• Experience in the games industry, especially large multiplayer games
• Background with Unreal and C++
• Experience with a JVM language for backend work
• Experience with Snowflake or other columnar databases (e.g., Redshift)

Compensation & Work Setup

• Estimated base pay range: USD $100,000–$140,000
• Flexible work arrangements: in-studio, hybrid, or fully remote within North America
