Senior Data Analyst

Role Overview

Tempus AI is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to design and execute clinical evidence studies with the goal of delivering personalized care for cancer patients.

What You’ll Do

• Develop clinical data models using dbt and SQL to meet business needs and support interoperability between existing data models.
• Build reports and dashboards for central monitoring, KPI metrics, and visualization of study performance.
• Create data automation pipelines to deliver data and transform raw inputs into analysis-ready datasets.
• Support development and maintenance of integrations across data marts, including de-identification workflows for protected health information (PHI).
• Maintain high-quality code practices including validation, documentation, and ongoing support of analytics code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience (preferably in analytics/consulting) in Life Sciences or Healthcare.
• Strong command of SQL and scripting languages such as R and/or Python.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Looker.
• Experience related to oncology, cancer genomics, molecular biology, and/or clinical trials.
• Ability to produce client-ready deliverables.
• Experience working with disorganized data and turning it into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Skills in data manipulation, cleaning, and visualization.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse audiences.
• Strong ownership mindset; able to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated oncology domain experience via coursework, side projects, or prior work.
• Experience integrating and operationalizing data across marts and handling PHI de-identification.
