About the role

Role Overview

The Senior Data Analyst will support the Medicare Advantage (MA) Product Capabilities team, specializing in eligibility and benefit data used for member-facing and vendor-administered supplemental benefits (e.g., fitness and transportation). The role ensures eligibility data accuracy, compliance with CMS regulations and UHG standards, and delivery aligned to business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to design, implement, and support data solutions
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related production issues impacting internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Support and manage data exchanges with external vendors and benefit administrators
  • Validate, reconcile, and monitor eligibility, utilization, and benefit data to ensure accurate downstream reporting and vendor data exchanges
  • Develop a strong understanding of MA business processes (Medicare product, claims, member eligibility) and partner with SMEs to shape solutions and interpret data
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and present findings, primarily using SQL Server and Snowflake
  • Create and maintain data scripts in Python for data transformations and data loads
  • Produce scalable, sustainable data solutions aligned to team standards
  • Lead work to completion, document processes (e.g., process flows, diagrams), and maintain reusable code
  • Contribute to analysis, problem definition, requirements, and solution development
  • Maintain and expand technical expertise through ongoing learning and evaluation of emerging tools
  • Provide status updates and communicate risks, dependencies, and progress to stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand business processes and supported data
  • Experience querying and working with databases using Snowflake and SQL Server
  • Experience supporting data exchanges and troubleshooting production data issues

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage data domains (eligibility, claims, utilization) and CMS/UHG compliance expectations
  • Experience with custom APIs

Location / Work Setup

  • Remote flexibility if you reside within commuting distance of Minnetonka, MN or Fort Washington, PA
  • For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, on-site work is required at least four days per week
