About the role
Role Overview
Senior Data Analyst, Marketing Analytics (GitLab) You’ll partner with Marketing leadership to shape how GitLab measures, models, and improves marketing performance. This is a high-visibility role focused on attribution, inbound funnel analysis, target setting, and campaign measurement.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior Marketing and Developer Relations leaders with data-driven insights for strategy and go-to-market decisions.
- Build and scale proactive insights across Marketing, including:
- experimentation
- connecting marketing credit from initial touchpoints to annual recurring revenue (ARR)
- Measure the impact of community programs and developer advocacy on awareness, adoption, and pipeline.
- Evaluate demand generation effectiveness, including:
- trial conversion analysis by segment
- lead scoring optimization
- outreach platform performance
- Partner with Analytics Engineering and Data Platform teams to translate business questions into technical requirements and support reliable delivery.
- Help evolve multi-touch attribution (attributed metric definitions and reporting implementation).
- Support annual planning in partnership with Sales, Finance, and Product leadership.
- Use AI-enabled analytics workflows via GitLab Duo Agent Platform, Claude with MCP, and Glean to improve how insights are developed and shared.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a data analyst or analytics engineer, preferably in B2B marketing analytics or large-scale analytics consultancy work for similar companies.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Ability to turn complex data into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
Nice to Have / Additional Signals
- Familiarity with dbt and analytics modeling in Snowflake.
- Experience with attribution, funnel analytics, and experimentation measurement in marketing contexts.
