Senior Data Analyst

Role overview

Kani Solutions Inc is seeking a Senior Data Analyst (12-month contract, 40 hours/week) for a remote U.S. role (PST preferred; also open to EST/CST and Canada). You will lead enterprise analytics solutions—building dashboards, enabling self-service reporting, and modernizing decision-making with AI-powered insights and workflow automation (including Slack-based reporting).

Responsibilities

Tableau analytics & reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting
• Define and enforce Tableau governance, data quality standards, and dashboard best practices
• Partner with stakeholders to establish KPIs/metrics and reporting frameworks
• Drive adoption through user training, enablement, and stakeholder engagement
• Continuously improve dashboard performance, usability, and business impact

Databricks & data engineering

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud data platforms
• Integrate structured and unstructured sources into unified analytical datasets
• Ensure data integrity, governance, consistency, and reliability
• Support analytics/AI by developing robust and scalable data foundations

AI, advanced analytics & automation

• Identify opportunities for AI/ML/predictive analytics to improve business outcomes
• Develop and operationalize AI-driven insights (e.g., Tableau Pulse, Salesforce AI, or similar)
• Design and support agentic AI workflows for data prep, analysis, and insight generation
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical, business-focused use cases
• Translate business problems into scalable analytics and AI solutions

Slack & workflow enablement

• Create Slack-based analytics experiences: automated reporting, alerts, and real-time insights
• Build workflow automations and integrations to embed analytics into business processes
• Enable proactive decision-making with automated notifications and recommendations
• Establish Slack as a central analytics/collaboration platform for stakeholders

Business partnership & strategic analysis

• Collaborate with business leaders to understand priorities and deliver analytics solutions
• Analyze trends, risks, growth opportunities, and performance drivers
• Present insights and recommendations to executives and cross-functional stakeholders
• Advise on data strategy, analytics enablement, and AI adoption

Required qualifications

• 3–7+ years experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or related
• Advanced Tableau expertise (dashboards, data modeling, governance, performance optimization)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, or cloud-based data platforms
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions

Nice-to-haves / essential highlights

• Tableau + AI + Slack-based reporting experience are explicitly essential
• Exposure to platforms such as Tableau Pulse and/or Salesforce AI
• Experience building agentic AI/workflow automation for analytics delivery
