Role: Senior Data Analyst

Instacart’s Financial Data Analytics team is looking for a highly skilled, intellectually curious analyst to shape the future of financial data. In this role, you’ll design and deliver data models, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure that provide Finance and Accounting with trusted insights at scale.

What you’ll do

• Bridge data & business needs: Translate business requirements into scalable data models.
• Own initiatives end-to-end: Turn ambiguous ideas into well-defined projects with clear deliverables.
• Build decision-making tools: Design and automate dashboards, models, and reporting systems for long-term strategy.
• Support Revenue Accounting: Create and maintain data products that underpin Revenue Accounting, including revenue recognition logic in financial data models.
• Ensure compliance & governance: Apply compliance-first design for SOX/audit readiness and enforce data governance standards.
• Maintain data integrity: Implement validation, monitoring, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancements.
• Leverage AI & next-gen analytics: Use AI tooling to modernize how financial data is modeled, automated, and delivered.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 5+ years (7+ preferred) in data analytics or analytics engineering
• Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt plus BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode)

Nice-to-haves (implied/mentioned)

• Experience embed revenue recognition logic or working closely with Revenue Accounting
• Familiarity with compliance and governance practices such as SOX and audit readiness
• Experience using AI tools and/or Python-based ML libraries (e.g., Copilot/Claude) to accelerate analytics workflows
