Senior Data Analyst

Role Overview

Senior Data Analyst at HealthShare Exchange (HSX), reporting to the Director, Value Based Care and Data Analytics. The role provides analytics expertise to support HSX’s data aggregation and member-facing data quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine data extraction, analysis, and interpretation.
• Analyze data to identify key issues and trends, and synthesize findings into reports, recommendations, and presentations.
• Support an HSX data quality improvement program:
  • Define data quality criteria/rules
  • Produce data quality report cards for members
  • Run data completeness checks and data quality assurance programs
• Work with internal teams and members to identify and resolve data collection/management issues; improve quality over time and measure improvements.
• Assess complex problems and recommend/assist with problem resolution strategies and actions.
• Develop operational needs and plans to support ongoing data activities.
• Advise on strategic data sharing opportunities with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Collaborate across member organizations to gather support, exchange information, and develop policy/position papers as needed.
• Support administrative and reporting needs:
  • Run data-related queries using SQL
  • Create dashboards and reports using Tableau (worksheets/spreadsheets/dashboards)
  • Coordinate with members and vendors to support data quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, statistics, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years experience as a data analyst in the healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of Health Information Exchange (HIE) services and Health IT (HIT).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with data aggregation and visualization using Tableau and Power BI.
• Ability to synthesize data into recommendations and presentations.
• Experience with HL7 data feeds and healthcare terminology/controlled vocabularies (e.g., ICD-10, LOINC, SNOMED).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to Haves / Preferred

• Master’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, health IT, public health, or related.
• Experience with Snowflake, R, SAS, Python, and Jira.
