About the role
Role Overview
Senior Data Analyst (Product & Engineering) for a growing software development company. This is a fully remote (U.S.) contract role (8 months, potential extension) where you will own analytics initiatives that influence product strategy and performance.
Responsibilities
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries across large-scale datasets.
- Design and own scalable dashboards, reporting layers, and self-serve analytics.
- Partner with product and engineering to define KPIs, instrument tracking, and evaluate feature performance.
- Lead A/B testing and experimentation analysis; deliver actionable recommendations.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data for advanced analytics use cases.
- Contribute to ETL/ELT and help improve data pipeline performance and reliability.
- Perform deep-dive analyses and translate findings into business/product insights.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a data analyst or product analytics analyst.
- Advanced SQL skills (e.g., CTEs, window functions, performance tuning).
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Experience building dashboards with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Proficiency with Python or R for analysis and data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and large/complex datasets.
- Ability to collaborate directly with product and engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills to influence non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or other modern data stack tools.
- Background in product-led or SaaS environments.
