About the role
Role Overview
Senior Data Analyst – Customer Retention & Expansion (Advanced Analytics) Remote (United States). You’ll be a hands-on individual contributor within Cornerstone’s Revenue Operations Analytics COE, partnering with Customer Success, Sales, Finance, and GTM leadership to turn retention and expansion data into actionable, operationalized insights.
Responsibilities
- Churn & Expansion Analytics
- Own analytical frameworks for gross/net retention, churn, renewals, and expansion across regions, segments, and GTM motions.
- Build cohort-based and lifecycle analyses to distinguish structural drivers (vs. timing, mix, coverage effects).
- Align bookings, renewals, and expansion analytics into a single trusted view of post-sale performance.
- Predictive & Diagnostic Analytics (Operationalized)
- Develop predictive/diagnostic models such as churn risk, renewal prioritization, and expansion propensity.
- Operationalize model outputs into repeatable workflows (e.g., renewal focus lists, risk segmentation, forecast support materials).
- Use scenario modeling for forecast reviews, renewal deep dives, and in-quarter risk management.
- Snowflake & In-Database Analytics
- Use Snowflake and in-database analytics (including Snowflake Cortex where appropriate) to build scalable scoring and insight outputs.
- Create curated feature sets and analytical views for consistent reuse across dashboards and analyses.
- Data Marts & Domain Data Quality
- Design and build domain-specific data marts in Snowflake for retention, renewal, and expansion.
- Own metric definitions, analytical logic, and data quality for trusted leadership reporting.
- Investigate data issues/root causes and partner with Systems, BI, and Finance to resolve discrepancies.
- Executive Storytelling & Operating Cadence
- Translate complex analysis into executive-ready narratives for forecast reviews, QBRs, and renewal deep dives.
- Proactively surface emerging risks, trends, and opportunities to support RevOps/GTM operating cadences.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in Revenue Operations, GTM Analytics, Customer Analytics, or a related BI/Analytics role in a B2B SaaS/subscription business.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing retention, churn, renewals, and expansion metrics.
- Strong SQL skills, including cohorting, lifecycle analysis, and time-based modeling.
- Experience building/maintaining dashboards in BI tools (Tableau preferred) and working with CRM and financial data.
- Familiarity with Python and statistical techniques for predictive/diagnostic analysis (e.g., regression, propensity analysis).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience operationalizing advanced analytics into production reporting or repeatable business workflows.
- Experience using Snowflake Cortex (where appropriate) for in-database modeling/scoring.
- Strong cross-functional influence with Data Governance, BI, Systems, and Finance.
