Senior Counsel (Product)

Role Overview

Join Headway as Senior Counsel (Product), acting as a strategic legal partner to the Product and Engineering teams during a pivotal growth phase. You will serve as the primary product attorney and thought partner, with a focus on AI, data usage, and health laws/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and R&D teams to support innovation and product development.
• Provide real-time legal guidance on technology use in healthcare delivery, including AI and clinical modalities.
• Translate complex regulations into practical, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
• Anticipate regulatory challenges and develop proactive solutions.
• Balance business risk appetite with business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Ability to translate complex healthcare regulatory requirements into clear guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and political savvy to navigate competing priorities and build partnerships.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• Ability to register as NY in-house counsel (required).
• Deep understanding of multi-state healthcare regulations in evolving regulatory environments.
• 5–7+ years of post-bar legal experience with significant healthcare regulatory expertise, particularly in health technology/product counseling.
• Experience advising Engineering/Product/Operations teams in a healthcare technology environment.
