About the role
Role Overview
Senior Cloud Security Engineer (individual contributor) at Collibra. You will design, implement, and operate security controls across a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, and GCP). You’ll act as a technical authority for cloud security, drive architectural decisions, and work hands-on with cloud-native security tooling.
Key Missions
- Design, implement, and operate security controls across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Drive architectural decisions and serve as a technical authority for cloud security
- Perform continuous vulnerability assessments for:
- Cloud workloads
- Container images
- Serverless functions
Responsibilities
- Own and operate security control implementation across cloud platforms
- Lead technical direction for cloud security architecture and practices
- Operate independently in ambiguous environments with a bias toward automation
- Collaborate with distributed stakeholders across time zones (UTC+2 to UTC-8)
Requirements
- Infrastructure as Code / configuration management: Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
- Cloud/container security: Kubernetes security hardening, container security, and service mesh technologies
- Cloud security fundamentals: cloud IAM architectures, secrets management, PKI, and encryption at rest/in transit
- Web application security: WAF rule experience (e.g., Cloudflare or equivalent)
- Multi-cloud depth: deep hands-on expertise in at least two of AWS/Azure/GCP, plus working knowledge of the third
- Scripting/engineering: GNU/Linux, Bash, and Python; plus Go/Golang (or equivalent)
- Experience: minimum 8 years IT/Security across disciplines, including at least 2 years in Cloud Security or Cloud Engineering focused on GCP and/or AWS
- Communication: advanced presentation and communication skills
- Security by design: ability to educate engineers on scalable security-by-design practices
- Compliance awareness: experience with regulatory requirements/frameworks such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, ISO 27001/2, NIST, SOC 2, etc.
- Citizenship: US citizen residing on US soil (supports US government work)
- Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience

- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or similar
