About the role

Role Overview

Join Valon Mortgage as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (full remote). You’ll build and operate core cloud infrastructure that underpins Valon’s products, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

Key Missions

Adopt and operationalize new data stores to support Valon’s growth.
Scale batch processing (control plane) to enable faster component creation and fulfillment.
Design, build, and operate core cloud infrastructure across:
- Compute, storage, databases, and networking.
Evaluate and adopt new infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities

Operationalize infrastructure improvements supporting product engineering and operations.
Support new deployment models and build sandbox environments.
Participate in on-call rotations.
Contribute to architecture decisions.
Mentor teammates.

Requirements

Product mindset: understand how infrastructure decisions impact dependent teams and products.
Strong communication and collaborative cross-team working style.
3–5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure/platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud systems.
Hands-on experience operating cloud infrastructure at meaningful scale on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong knowledge of containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
Infrastructure-as-code experience: Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
Experience with distributed systems concepts (networking, storage, load balancing, database operations).
Solid engineering fundamentals: ability to write clean, well-tested code for services and tooling.

Nice to Have

Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Familiarity with regulated industries (e.g., fintech, healthcare).
