About the role
Role overview
Join Axway as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, automate, and support mission-critical cloud infrastructure for enterprise customers worldwide. You’ll serve as a senior technical leader focused on Microsoft Azure, hybrid environments, and Kubernetes-driven platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure using Azure and on-premises technologies.
- Architect and support high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery environments.
- Build secure Azure networking solutions, including:
- VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway
- Azure Firewall, NSGs
- Load Balancers, Application Gateway / WAF
- Deploy and support enterprise applications using Azure infrastructure services.
- Act as technical lead for customer onboarding, migration, and cloud infrastructure projects.
- Administer and troubleshoot enterprise Linux and Windows server environments.
- Manage identity and hybrid integrations including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Deploy and operate Kubernetes environments, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Operate containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
- Manage Kubernetes operations: scaling, upgrades, patching, monitoring, ingress, storage, and security.
- Partner with DevOps/engineering to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments.
- Automate provisioning and operations using Terraform, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Support monitoring/observability with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios.
- Support enterprise hosting capabilities such as backup, replication, storage, proxy, load balancing.
- Provide advanced L3 support across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Linux, networking, and storage.
- Perform infrastructure lifecycle management: patching, capacity planning, operational optimization.
- Participate in audits, governance, DR testing, and security compliance.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive long-term operational improvements.
- Participate in after-hours support rotations and scheduled maintenance.
Requirements
- 9+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including:
- Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage
- AKS, Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall
- Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery
- Key Vault, Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Application Gateway / WAF, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway
- Strong hybrid cloud and hybrid identity experience.
- Deep hands-on Linux administration in enterprise production environments.
- Strong containerization expertise: Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience: deploying, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cloud-native and microservices architectures.
- Kubernetes ecosystem knowledge including:
- Helm, RBAC, Ingress Controllers (additional items mentioned but truncated)
Nice to have / preferred
- Multi-cloud experience across AWS and/or GCP.
Location / travel
- Must be based in the United States (remote role).
- Open to travel.
